Book Travelling Thursday: Novel I Want To Read This Summer

Hello, everyone! Book Travelling Thursday is a weekly meme where you select a book based on that week’s theme, and showcase the different covers of that book. I think its a great way to get to know fellow members in the bookish community and talk books!

Technically, Summer is over in my place. It’s raining now! Anyways, I’ll do it.

Oh my God! Look at how pretty both the books look! I love the UK Edition better though.

YouTuber Zoella has a book club and the books in her list are re-released with some cool, funky modifications to the original’s cover. This one’s not very different, but the pink looks really cute. Don’t you think?

I didn’t like any of these after seeing those doodle-y, cartoon-y cute covers of the book.

When the Princess of Nova accidentally poisons herself with a love potion meant for her crush, she falls crown-over-heels in love with her own reflection. Oops. A nationwide hunt is called to find the cure, with competitors travelling the world for the rarest ingredients, deep in magical forests and frozen tundras, facing death at every turn.

Enter Samantha Kemi – an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent. Sam’s family were once the most respected alchemists in the kingdom, but they’ve fallen on hard times, and winning the hunt would save their reputation. But can Sam really compete with the dazzling powers of the ZoroAster megapharma company? Just how close is Sam willing to get to Zain Aster, her dashing former classmate and enemy, in the meantime?

And just to add to the pressure, this quest is ALL OVER social media. And the world news.

No big deal, then.

  1. I just commented on another “Book Traveling Thursday” post (I’m doing some blog-hopping), and now I’m wondering how I didn’t know about this meme before. I love comparing different versions of covers and just analyzing covers in general, so this kind of post is right up my alley.

I’m a big fan of the UK and US editions – both make the book look so fun! – but like you, I’m not too excited about the other covers. They all look like weird paperbacks from the 90s that you’d find at a garage sale, haha. The book itself sounds intriguing as well – I may have to check it out!
