With Katatonia’s new album “City Burials” out, it was reminiscent of their sound from The Great Cold Distance with its dark undertones and the heavy, moody vocals so I’ve just been listening to a lot of their old stuff for the millionth time.

I have been obsessed with this album since it came out last year and I love revisiting each song now and then just to enjoy the guitar riffs and the vocals.

I recently went down the memory lane after a Bring Me The Horizon marathon during which I listened to all their albums from Count Your Blessings to That’s the Spirit. It reminded me of how much their sound had evolved over the years with it becoming richer and more complex. Naturally, I had to listen to amo which I didn’t listen to after not being a huge fan of their pop-sound in That’s the Spirit. I was surprised by how much I liked this album! It’s a perfect mix of electronic and rock and Oliver Sykes’s vocals have imporved significantly.
